General Manager of the NOHU to Echorouk: Three pilgrims died before the beginning of rites
The General Manager of the National Office for the Hadj and Umrah (pilgrimage), Berbara Sheikh, discloses on the urgent plan to end the crisis of tickets and improve the insurance of 14.000 Algerian pilgrims by the Algerian Tourist Club and the National Office for Tourism following the registration of complaints and deficiencies in the transportation and accommodation of Hadjis.
«Ending the crisis of pilgrimage tickets will notice a breakthrough before the start of the Hadj. I assure winners in the draw that they will move to the holy places before the 10th of this month. I ordered the selling of tickets outside the package proposed by the Algerian tourist club, by contrast, Hadjis wishing to pay more than 32 million centimes are free to pay additional financial amounts» he said.
He added that 19.000 Algerian Hadjis arrived to the holy places, including 11.000 residing in Mecca in hotels and residences close to the holy places, and 800.000 residing in Medina before transferring them to Mecca.
Spokesman of Air Algerie ordered to fill all aircrafts destined to the holy places according to a new plan, attributing the death of three Hadjis (pilgrims) to the deterioration of their health status even before their arrival to Mecca, noting that doctors who examine their health situation at the level of medical committees said they can travel without any problem; therefore, they will be punished in order to stop the phenomenon of favoritism and compassion.
