German technology to speed up production and diagnosis of gold cards
New equipment equipped with the latest solutions and technologies is expected to arrive for the Algerian Post Office, which will significantly increase the production and diagnosis capabilities of gold cards at the Birtouta center in the capital, especially to address some of the delays in delivery operations, and will also allow in the future the diagnosis of gold cards that operate with the contact feature of the electronic payment devices interface (TPE).
In this context, senior sources from Algeria Post informed “Echorouk” that the institution has concluded a deal with a German company to bring in very modern technological equipment to produce and diagnose gold cards at the Birtouta center in the capital, noting that a team from the institution recently traveled to Germany for this purpose specifically, and this new equipment is expected to arrive in mid-August.
According to the same sources, this equipment is equipped with very modern German technologies and solutions, in addition to the fact that it will increase the daily production capacities of gold cards, especially the identification operations via the chip linked to each current postal account, which will result in a rapid improvement in the delivery operations of gold cards, some of which were delayed in reaching their owners during the past two months.
In addition to the large production capacities of the new equipment that will arrive in mid-August, the institution will carry out updating and upgrading operations on the old equipment currently located in the Birtouta center, which will double the production and identification of gold cards, and will allow for a quick recovery of the existing delay..
According to the sources that spoke to “Echorouk”, the new equipment manufactured in Germany will be a lever for a future project that is almost ready at the Algerian Post, related to making one side of the gold card work by touching the front of the final payment device (TPE) without inserting the card into it.
According to our sources, the new equipment will allow the identification of gold cards through the chip they have, and also make the other side of the card operable by touching the screen of the final payment device (TPE), indicating that the project is ready but all operations must be verified, especially those related to the security of operations.
According to “Echorouk” sources, Algeria Post, in order to deliver the largest possible number of cards while waiting for the arrival of the new equipment, has adopted a policy based on identifying cards that are used frequently, given that it has detailed data on the personal use of the card, which happened last May through the presence of 1 million cards concerned with renewal, where priority was given to customers who use the gold card frequently, with the recruitment of teams working around the clock and also those responsible for maintenance.
As for August, there are 1.2 million gold cards concerned with renewal, and with the entry of the new equipment manufactured in Germany, our sources confirm, the pace will increase further, which will allow a quick recovery of the gold card identification operations and their delivery to their owners, and the situation will return to normal by next September.
