Government to raise housewives’ pensions.

The head of the National Federation of Pensioners Alaouchiche Ismail has revealed that negotiations with the labor minister are underway to raise the housewife’s pension to reach 1733 Algerian Dinars per month.

•  The pension’s increase is indisputable and the Federation is due to discuss the issue with M Tayeb Louh in the coming few days to debate the pensioners and housewives’ problems, he indicated to Echourok.
• 560 thousand housewives will benefit from this increase, in addition to a first re-value ordered by the president and came into force since January 2008 with a retroactive effect.
• For his part, the labor minister has indicated that the decision to increase the pensions will include the pensioners from both the private and public sectors whose number reached 900 thousands.
