GSPC lost 25 terrorists in two years
Security sources revealed that The Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, under the leadership of Abdelmalek Droudkel nicknamed Abou Mosab Abdelouadoud, called leaders of the battalions and sub-battalions for coordination in planning and implementing terrorist operations. Droudkel also stressed on the need to cooperate with leaders of the various terrorist groups in Algeria.

Information available at Echorouk said that Droudkel was planning for that before Abou Tamim, leader of Al Ansar battalion surrendered, and before Amr Tiraoui, leader of Al Fatah battalion died, as well as the most important leaders such as Bouzegza Abderrahman called Abderrahman Ettilali “Abou Isra”, leader of El Farouk battalion, Yousef Khlelifi nicknamed Abou Talha, leader of Al Arkam battalion, and Sahari Mekhloufi nicknamed Houdeifa Ayoub, leader of Annour battalion, who carried out the suicide attack that targeted the General directorate of information in Tizi Ouzou.

Observers of the security matters in Algeria believe that the GSPC was forced to take such measures in light of the military operation by the Algerian army, which eliminated over 25 leaders since April 2007, mostly operating in Al Ansar, Al Arkam, Al Fatah, Al Farouk, that are most dangerous “death battalions” in the GSPC active in the central localities, where main strongholds behind the planning, implementation, funding, abduction and recruitment operations.

Echorouk was informed that Droudkel was willing to integrate Ennour battalion under the leadership of Al Ansari, and repentant terrorists said that he spoke about coordination rather than merger in order not to raise conflict on leadership.

Now, Ennour battalion is facing many difficulties after the elimination of its leader and decrease in the number of activists, as well as the disappearance of its sub-battalions. Same problem is facing Al Fatah and Al Farouk battalions.
