GSPC terrorists use fishing boats to circumvent security checkpoints between Boumerdes and Bejaia.

Corroborating sources told “Echorouk Al Yaoumi” that the coastguards of the province of Boumerdes, 50 km east of Algiers, have seized 2 fishing boats which were used by GSPC terrorists to move along the coastal regions of Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia.

  • According to the same sources, these 2 fishing boats were discovered in the Mizrana forest in the wake of a large- scale search operation conducted by coastguards backed by elements of the National Popular Army.
  • Security sources said that an in-depth investigation showed that the 2 fishing boats had been stolen by Droudkel’s henchmen from local fishermen to allow them to use the sea lanes on the eastern seaboard in a bid to circumvent the numerous roadblocks set up by the security forces across the region.
  • The same sources also indicated that the GSPC terrorist groups were using these fishing boats for the covert transport of weapons, ammunition and explosives between the eastern provinces of Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia.
  • In the aftermath of this discovery, the Algerian coastguards have beefed up the control of all the fishing boats and other vessels along the coastline of these 3 provinces in a bid to face up to any contingency.
