The former minister delegate in charge of the Algerian community settled abroad, Halim Benattallah, has sent a letter to Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, urging him to provide for the sake of the national and international opinion a bona-fide health certificate proving undoubtedly that incumbent President Abdellaziz Bouteflika is enjoying a good health.

In his letter of which Echorouk possesses a copy,  Halim Benattallah called on Prime Minister Sellal to follow such a line in order to give solid credence in the eyes of the national and international public opinion to his repeated assertions in the press columns that Abdellaziz Bouteflika’s health condition has greatly improved, as he put it.

Halim Benattallah, who has now shifted to the Benflis camp ahead of next April’s presidential elections, has underlined that Bouteflika should be closely examined by sworn Algerian medical professors who will be entrusted, without any interference from any quarters, with drawing out a bona-fide certificate about the true health condition of the incumbent President in all fairness and in total respect for medical ethics.

Halim Benattallah also affirmed that such an endeavour was now a prerequisite as the Algerian citizens have a legitimate right to know all about Bouteflika’s health track record in order to ascertain that he is physically fit or not to fulfill his Presidential duties in case he is re-elected for a fourth mandate through the ballot box in the upcoming April 17 Presidential polls.
