Leader of Workers’ Party Louisa Hanoune Tuesday criticized candidate Ali Benflis for being imposing by the US as Algeria’s president and aiming at dividing the country into regions.

“When he was a head of government, he made disasters in national economy. His current program is meant to liquidate the republic by dividing the country into regions,” said Hanoune in a rally in the province of Tipaza.

She also criticized former minister Benouari for asking for foreign interference. She called for prosecuting him for his involvement in the Khalifa case because he was a “delegate minister at the Treasury and the Khalifa scandal took place at his time.”

Speaking about recent clashes in the province of Ghardaia (south of Algeria), Hanoune who runs for office in the presidential elections said non-governmental organizations fuel the situation in Ghardaia upon request from the US intelligence and with the help of local mafia which wants to extend its financial corrupt empire.

She added that her program aims at making a “third republican transformation” for a deep constitutional reform.
