Secretary General of Algeria’s Workers’ Party Louisa Hanoune Sunday said President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s latest letter did not match reality. “It talked about Algeria before the 2014 presidential elections and did not evoke the current economic crisis.”

Hanoune critisized the letter contents, saying it did not talk about the Algerian reality. She wished the letter included a final decision not to have recourse to foreign debt in any condition. “It is scary that Algeria would be in debt once again.”

She also criticized recent reforms, describing them as “anti-reforms” and saying they almost look like reforms conducted by countries destroyed by the Arab Spring.

Speaking about the new Constitution, she said it includes laws passed by Parliament in a “coup” way. “It said to see that six important laws are passed in one day while the opposition opinion is not respected,” she added.
