Hanoune: “I am proud that my partisans support Bouteflika”

Secretary General of the Workers’ Party Louisa Hanoune Sunday said she is proud of the fact that some members of her party chose stability instead of anarchy and the right wing candidate.

“Some members voted for Bouteflika. This helped to defeat the right wing candidate and anyone who wanted to raise anarchy in the country. I am proud of that,” she said in the closing of the party’s political office proceedings.

Hanoune was criticized for supporting president candidate Bouteflika in the last elections.

“We are free to make any decision. I am the representative of the Workers’ Party only and not Bouteflika. I respect him as president and did not insult him,” she added.

She called on elected president Bouteflika for taking a set of emergency measures on different levels.

“Those who voted for Bouteflika can express anger if those measures are not immediately taken due to large differences between salaries and the events of Ghardaia,” she said.
