Hasoon’s first television appearance after separating from Qahwaji

According to the London daily Elaph, after separating from her business manager the director Toni Qahwaji, the young Iraqi artist Shatha Hasoon chose to appear on television through the show “Webyhla Al Sahar” in order to clarify the reasons behind leaving Qahwaji. The leaving of Qahwaji has turned Shatha’s career upside down and she made clear that her manager Qahwaji met with her and told her that he longer wanted to be working with her.

• He did not give her any clear reason to why he decided to leave her and she swore that she has no clue to why he did that to her. She had denied that the reason behind Qahwaji’s decision was because she had hosted a private concert without telling him about it. She said that “she is no Dana, Mana or Ghana to do such a thing and that she is Shatha Hasoon and everyone knows who she is”.
•  During a segment of the show “You Dare”, Shatha refused to call Qahwaji on her cell phone and there were tears in her eyes when she was asked to call him which means that she misses him a lot. As for being forbidden from receiving the “Murex” award by Qahwaji, Shatha said that she got the news from the broadcaster Nidal Al Ahmadeh and she was shocked to know that she might be forbidden from taking her award. At the end she received her invitation and participated at the “Murex” celebration and she doesn’t think that Qahwaji might harm her in the future.
•  Shatha chose Qahwaji among the best directors for directing video clips when he was compared to the famous Lebanese directors Saeed Marouq, Walid Nasif and Fadi Haddad. Shatha’s television appearance came one day before she left to Iraq to perform there. She is the first artist to perform in Iraq since the war there struck and despite the security dangers there she is willing to take the risk. Shatha will have tight security during her presence in Iraq.
•  Shatha had answered all the personal questions that were asked by the co-host of the entertainment show “Webyhla Al Saher”. She said yes to civil marriage and no to sex before marriage. She stated that society has in some way permitted a man to have intimate relationships with women but not the other way around.
