Former Algeria bishop, Henry Tessier, sent, in an interview with Echorouk, on the sidelines of the Forum of Spirituality in Tlemcen (western Algeria), a message to the French people on the occasion of the New Year celebrations, saying that he lived in peace in Algeria.

“I am against the anti-Muslims attacks by burning mosques and prejudice to their property against the backdrop of the terrorist bombings in Paris. I lived in Algeria since 66 years in peace and I was not attacked, and I had brotherhood and friendship relationships with the Algerians and all Muslims.”
Henri Tessier’s message is a real testimony about the situation of Christians in Algeria, which came to refute the international reports on the situation of Christian minorities in Algeria, and they also came in the context of the confirmation of the former bishop in Algeria that the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohamed and the celebration of Christmas came in the same period, and this God’s message to the Christians and Muslims in order to invite them to rapprochement and consolidation of the friendship, brotherhood and respecting the principle of dealing with each other.
“My presence to this forum that is organized by the Arts and Exhibition Centre, which dealt with the subject of Prophet Mohamad’s birth, stems from my personal conviction in the rapprochement between Muslims and Christians, and the same thing applies for large range of Muslims. Christmas celebration for the year 2016 It will not pass without the participation of Muslims.”
“Alawits will participate in Christmas celebrations in Oran (western Algeria), and the goal of this participation is to inform the public opinion that the rapprochement between Muslims and Christians is not impossible away from the culture of violence.”
Henri Tessier took part, along with many researchers, including the former Minister Boudjema Haichoure and a number of university researchers who are led by the University Office Chairman, Abou Bakr Belkaid, Dr. Maguenounife Choaib, and academic researcher Ismat Ali Sari, and tried during his lecture to shed light on the reality of the prophet Mohamed’s birth and Christmas.
