High-Level Talks Between Sonatrach And Russian Gazprom

The CEO of Sonatrach, Mr. Rachid Hachichi, met in Russia with the CEO of Gazprom, Mr. Alexei Miller, where the two sides discussed future opportunities to bolster and develop the partnership between the two companies.

The meeting took place during Hachichi’s visit to the pavilion of the Russian energy company Gazprom, the largest producer of natural gas in the world, where he was able to see the modern, innovative technologies adopted by Gazprom in the field of the gas industry value chain, including offshore gas exploration, production and transportation technologies.

On the sidelines of this international forum, Hachichi and Alexei Miller led a high-level meeting attended by the executives of the two groups, where they discussed the current challenges facing the gas industry and future opportunities to strengthen and develop the partnership between Sonatrach and Gazprom.

For reference, Sonatrach is working in partnership with Gazprom International to develop the gas resources discovered in the Gourd Sayeh and Gourd Sayeh North fields (the Assal field area) by completing drilling operations for 24 wells in addition to establishing a processing unit to produce significant quantities of dry gas, condensates and liquefied petroleum gas and transport them via the Sonatrach pipeline network starting in 2025.
