General Manager of Scientific Research and Technological Development at the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry, Professor Abdelhafid Aouragh, criticized the University Ranking that is prepared by some international agencies with a commercial advertisement, in order to promote for the private universities on behalf of the public universities, wondering about the classification of 90 private universities in the first ranks, being advanced to the major universities in United States and Europe.

Professor Aouragh, said on the sidelines of the open doors on the applied research to promote the projects that were created by researchers in various fields, and praised them before the economic dealers , that were hosted by the scientific and technical center of the physics-chemical analysis in Bousmail, in Tipaza, that a lot of media were the victim of advertisement agencies that promote for private universities through the classification, which is based on a scientific basis, in order to attract the kids of wealthy people to study there, on behalf of the public universities that are known internationally with their research and scientific product.

“The rating of 90 private universities in the lead, followed by the vintage universities of America and Europe is not fair, and the classification of the Algerian universities in the bottom ranks does not reflect the strong demand for national competencies by major international companies in various specializations. Media should highlight the achievements of the Algerian universities’ graduates who chose immigration, achieved successes and proven achievements.”

“The ministry opened the doors to those who have proven their merit in various countries around the world”, pointing to the small number of permanent researchers compared with the challenges that are facing Algeria in order to build a strong economy.
