Huge quantity of drug seized by local authorities in western Algeria
National gendarmerie services of the province of Ain Temouchent (western Algeria) yesterday morning seized 62 KGs of drug washed up by the sea and disposed on the shores of Bouzedjar, Tergua and Al Mordjane.

Reliable sources revealed to “Echorouk” that the combing operation that lasted more than two weeks wound up yesterday at dawn with the recovery of a parcel holding 30 KGs of the illegal substance comprising a batch of one kilo bars.

Another parcel was discovered the same day at around 3 pm holding the same quantity of drug while a third comprising 2 KGs of drug was recovered in the Bouzedjar beach.

The same sources also revealed that tight security measures have been stiffened all along the coast strip and the number of security elements was raised to 1100 commandeered around the clock. Moreover, the local radio broadcast calls for citizens to inform the national gendarmerie services if they notice suspect parcels on the beaches.
