Instructions to punish security personnel and army involved in traffic law violation

Policemen, gendarmes and soldiers are punished, just like any other citizen who violated the traffic laws during and out-of-service. 

• Violation of traffic laws is also a breaching of the law and instructions and punishment may reach the martial court and imprisonment, and even dismissal from the services as they are lawmen who must apply and respect laws as to be the good example for the citizens who did not respect the most basic rules of driving or even the security services during the check points, as referred to in the cases dealt with in the courses, and the daily assaults and attacks on policemen and gendarmes as well.
• The prosecutor of Cheragua court in Algiers, said during a trial that the number of cases relating to contempt of order increased; “This kind of cases reflects the decline in respecting policemen and gendarmes, particularly during a violation of traffic law. Repeated attacks against the security personnel in the checkpoints confirm the spread of this phenomenon in our society.
• Information available to Echorouk, show this phenomenon has remarkably exacerbated in the recent years, as security services refused to give any details about the topic or reply to inquiries related to the category that is mostly involved in the violation of the traffic law, while only one security official only said; “ Law is applied on everyone, it is above all”.
• Security agents said they are confronted daily with drivers and citizens who do not respect policemen, as tearing the arbitrary fines and refuse to comply with orders of stopping, and violating the checkpoints and assaulting the security agents.
• Reliable sources told Echorouk that a Minister, who is amateur of driving with high speed and known as “The cascadeur minister”, drives his car with high speed without a chauffeur and escort, when he moves to visit his relatives or just relax in one of the western localities. H is known with high speed driving and had been involved in a traffic accident without any human losses. Policemen and gendarmes said he respects them but he is not committed to the traffic laws.
• Many officials get involved in the violation traffic laws, however, they are not punished, and security services said “They have too much money”.
