Algeria assumed the presidency of the Committee on the Application of International Labour Standards for the 113th session of the International Labour Conference, held in Geneva from June 2 to 13, 2025.
According to Algerian television, Algeria’s election to chair this prestigious committee reflects the trust and position it enjoys among ILO members and social partners.
Algeria’s election to chair this committee stems from its constructive engagement in the various dynamics within the organisation and its pioneering experience in the fields of social protection, promoting social dialogue, and protecting workers’ rights.
During its presidency, Algeria will oversee the work of this important committee, particularly the ILO’s oversight system, and is committed to implementing international labour standards and continuing to promote the principles of decent work, social justice, and workers’ rights, according to the same source.
