Iran grateful to Algeria''s stance toward its peaceful nuclear program
Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Thursday that his country is grateful to Algeria's stance supporting Iran's peaceful nuclear program.
- Prior to his departure, Mottaki said that he briefed the Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on the latest developments regarding the Iranian nuclear program.
- The minister said the option for fuel swap for Tehran Research Reactor is still on the table and parties can reach an agreement with Tehran within framework of the offer.
- Mottaki added that during his meeting with the Algerian leader, he conveyed on behalf of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad an invitation for President Bouteflika to attend the G-15 meeting.
- The G-15, which brings together 19 countries mostly from Latin America, Asia and Africa, is currently headed by Iran and due to meet in Tehran in mid-May.
The Iranian minister also hailed bilateral relations between the two countries.
