Iraqi official: former Algerian President Boumediene killed by lithium poison
Late Algerian President Houari Boumediene.
Former Iraqi foreign affairs minister Hamed El Djabbouri said late Algerian President Houari Boumediene died of poison after his visit to Damascus where he attended the last Arab summit in his life.

In a TV program on the Qatari channel Al Jazeera, El Djabbouri said how he saw President Boumediene turning into a “phantom” due to lithium poison.
-
“Boumediene started loosing weight until he became a phantom. His bones were so vulnerable that they were easily broken. He was poisoned of lithium.”
-
He added that he was following up the late president’s state in view of Algeria’s place in Iraqis’ hearts.
-
Speaking on war against Iran, El Djabbouri said former Iraqi President Hussein Saddam was insisting on it and he rejected all Islamic and African mediations to convince him that this war was an American plan.
-
He added that former Algerian President Chadeli Ben Djedid told him that he talked with Saddam on the war but in vain.

Saddam turned a deaf ear to Pakistani and Ghanaian mediations. El Djabbouri considered that the Iraqi Iranian war “ate Iraqis and Iranians and stopped development process in Iraq.”
