ISIS claimed responsibility for a criminal attack on a police station in the province of Constantine carried out on Sunday. This comes as security experts believe that ISIS does not exist in Algeria. The attack would be no more than an attempt to trigger a media war on the world.

ISIS Monday posted a release to claim responsibility for the terror attack as a man tried to target the police station using a bomb belt.

Security expert Abdelaziz Moudjahid said ISIS does not exist in Algeria and the army forces eliminated all the terrorists related to the organization.

“ISIS has a strategy to impose a media war by claiming responsibility for all terror attacks not only in Algeria,” he told Echorouk.

He added that individual attacks carried out by the so-called the isolated wolves can happen everywhere in the world. “ISIS claims responsibility for them to say that we exist.

Security analyst Benomar Ben Djana said ISIS claims responsibility for all the terror attacks wherever they are carried out.

“The remaining terror groups in Algeria do not work for ISIS,” he added.

“The attack on the Constantine police station are part of speculations raised by ISIS to impose its existence although it lost its credibility,” he said.

National Security Department addressed thanks to residents in Constantine for their solidarity with policemen who were wounded in the attack.

The interior ministry said the terror attack will not affect “our determination to face any act aiming at hitting people and properties security.”
