Italian coast guards arrest 46 Algerian illegal immigrants
Italian coast guards Wednesday arrested five hand-made boats carrying 46 illegal immigrants including a 30-year-old woman. Most of them come from the province of Annaba, Echorouk has learnt.
The illegal immigrants arrived to Sardinia safe and sound after a 12-hour-journey.
According to the same sources, the illegal immigrants got on board on hand-made boats in Annaba. They reached Italy but they were arrested late on Wednesday by Italian coast guards in Sardinia. They were taken to a detention centre where they underwent a medical check up and were questioned by security forces.
The illegal immigrants were able to reach Italy in spite of bad weather.
Earlier on Wednesday, Algerian coast guards received information about hand-made boats which tried to cross the Mediterranean Sea.
