The Italian Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, said that his country’s government is about to launch high-level training courses in coordination with the Algerian authorities, as happened with Egypt, Ethiopia and Tunisia.
The Italian minister explained that the basic idea is to train a specialized and qualified workforce, which would benefit the Algerian economy and many Italian companies operating in Algeria and to encourage regular immigration of workers who master the Italian language and culture.
Giuseppe Valditara, who began an official working visit to Algeria, participated in the opening of the Algerian pavilion at the Tourism and Traditional Industries Exhibition in Milan, where Algeria is the guest of honour representing the African continent, according to Italian media that covered the event, with the presence of Algerian Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Houria Meddahi.
The Italian minister stressed in his remarks that the expected training programs in Algeria will be under bilateral cooperation agreements, and will bring to this country the best that Italy has in the field of training.
The Italian minister signed two cooperation agreements in Algeria here on Monday, the first in the field of education and the second in vocational training.
An Italian government document obtained by Echorouk and discussed in a previous article revealed that Mattei’s plan aims to launch a regional and continental training centre in Algeria, which will be operational in 2025, to attract citizens from the Sahel countries and the entire African continent, for training to develop high-tech companies.
It indicated that the Algerian authorities are currently working on choosing a location to host this centre, which will be close to the capital Algiers and will be financed by both the Algerian and Italian parties.
