Jad Shwairi in English

The Lebanese artist Jad Shwairi has been working for a year and a half to release a new album in English. The singer also completed a new video clip ready to be aired on all “Melody” music channels during the month of April.

• Traveling between New York, Los Angeles and London Jad worked with the best producers and music distributers. The song “Funky Arabs” is among the songs on the new English album which was distributed by Toni Bo Khalil.
• The album was improvised by Lebanese/ Armenian musician Ghai Manokian who also arranged for Jad to meet with famous Platinum Record companies in New York.
• According to the London daily Elaph, Manokian had introduced Jad to “Logic” from “The Ear Candy Band” who had come to Lebanon from New York in order to appear in the new clip, where his voice was also used on parts of the song. The song “Funky Arabs” is written by Jad Shawairi and the lyrics were revised by the writer Goddess Octavia the writer of the song “Hips Don’t Lie” by the famous artist Shakira.
•  Jad had a part in directing the clip for the new song with the help of Lebanese director Yehya Sa’adeh.
•  The clip was produced by production company “Over Beirut,” owned by Yehya Sa’adeh.  Filming of the clip lasted for 3 days with the best Lebanese and Arab models, and appearances by famous celebrities.
• Jad said the he wanted the clip to show the right image of Arabs.
• “I wanted to let people know that the image of Arabs on CNN and BBC is not true” said Jad.
• The new clip is considered one of the most costly video clips ever filmed.
