“Jellyfish” Movie Represents Algeria In Cannes Festival
Algerian Actor Nabil Asseli, hero of the short film which is programmed in the event the “Week of Directors”, confirmed that the movie “Jellyfish” will participate within the Cannes Film Festival 2016 in order to represent the Algerian cinema.
“Story of the film is about a small family which is consisting of a father who embodies the role of Nabil, and his wife, which role was played by actress Adila Ben Dimrad, who obtained recently the best Arab actress in the Cairo Film Festival, for her role in the movie the “Repentant”, in addition to their two kids.”
“The couple decided to go to the seaside for recreation, but things get complicated, and the beginning of the tragedy of this family starts. The father returns to work, leaving his wife with her mother and the two kids, and here begins the trouble, while a group of gangsters attack the wife in the waters and try to assault her, and after a fierce resistance against one of the aggressors who tried to kills, she disappears after that, and everyone thinks she is dead, but her soul remains inside the sea.”
“The work is one hundred percent Algerian, both in terms of actors or technical team, which defied all the factors and the difficult circumstances, that were embodied by the French Director, Damien Aunori. Large parts of the movie was shot it in the deep sea.”
“Actress Adila Ben Dimrad, received theoretical and practical lessons in diving and moving into the water without oxygen bottles, and learned good control of breathing under cold water, as a large part of events in her role are under the sea.”
“The movie is currently in the montage and final retouche, in order to be ready by the first week of May, to be presented on 18 and 20 of the same month, in the presence of heroes of the film led by Nabil Assli and Adila Ben Dimrad and the director.”
