Justice: Ouyahia and Sellal Involved In All Unveiled Corruption Scandals !

On Monday, former Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal appeared before the Supreme Court’s investigative instructor, who heard him in corruption cases related to businessman Ahmed Mazouz, and he thereby issued an order to put him in temporary custody for the second time, while his successor Ahmed Ouyahia also appeared Sunday before the same jurisdictions in cases related businessman and former director of the state housing compound of “Club Des Pins” namely Abdelhamid Melzi, and thus the duo Ouyahia and Sellal were mentioned in all corruption cases that have so far been opened by justice.
The “judicial privilege” included in the Penal Code of the Supreme Personalities did not benefit the former Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and his predecessor, Abdelmalek Sellal, and did not fortify them from the hierarchy towards the Supreme Court’s investigating advisor, who proved that there was a charge and follow-up.
He ordered their temporary detention in El Harrach prison on common charges of abuse of power, and other heavy charges ranging from the abuse of office and the granting of unjustified privileges in the field of public transactions, exploitation of influence, looting of public money and the acquisition of property without right.
In the details of the corruption cases, Abdelmalek Sellal and his successor, Ahmed Ouyahia, are involved in a case involving the decisions of the National Investment Council, where they face suspicions of “giving illegal privileges” to owners of car-manufacturing plants in the country.
A statement issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Supreme Court said that in the context of the open investigation at the level of the Supreme Court, yesterday, the hearing was conducted by the investigating advisor involving the former Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal in the case of businessman Mazouz, who is facing before justice 7 serious offenses and misdemeanors.
According to the statement, Sellal is charged with unjustifiably granting unjustified privileges when entering into a transaction in violation of legislative and regulatory provisions as well as misuse of the job intentionally by a public official in violation of laws and regulations, conflict of interest, bribery in the conclusion of public transactions, intentional squandering of public funds, illegal use of third party by a public official and money laundering.
During the two ministers’ tenure as prime minister, several corruption cases came to the fore, and sparked off much controversy, known as “scandals of the century,” such as the Khalifa affair, the East-West motorway, the Sonatrach case 1 and 2, in addition to a scandal of smuggling overseas of $ 320 billion in three years, as revealed by the documents, “Panama Papers”, a scandal in which Sellal and a number of ministers of his government were namely cited.
