Karim Benyamina to “ Echourok” : I ’m begging Saadane to call me up.

Though bor in Germany to a German mother, Berlin’s player Karim Ben Yamina feels very committed to his native country Algeria. He accepted to give an interview to our reporter I which he talks about his achievements with his club in an “Algerian” way of speaking.

• Q: Are you in touch with the Algerian players who evolve in Germany?

• A: In the past, there wasn’t many, but now there are five  or six who play in the German League I know Matmour, Antar Yahia, Chadli Al Aameri and, naturally, Karim Ziani, though I didn’t have the opportunity to meet them but I follow their performances regularly; the problem is that they live far from me and we are bound by our personal commitments

• Q: Who do you like the most?

• A: They are all Algerians that’s why I’m supporting them all and wish to meet them, still I  like Ziani’s style, he’s my favourite he reminds me of Zidane and Ben Zemma I like their way of playing, in addition we share the same origin.

• Q: Since you know Ziani, do you follow the Algerian squad’s news?

• A: Of course yes, I’m Algerian at heart though I live in Germany but I’m closely linked to my country through my friends and TV programs, especially the Algerian squad’s matches.

• Q: Did you follow the “Greens” during the qualifiers?
•  
• A: Yes, I saw most of the matches during these qualifiers, the “Greens” deserve to go to,the world Cup because they are the simply the best.

• Q: How do you feel when you watch the Algerian squad’s matches?
•  
• A: I feel proud at the same time jealous for not being part of the group; the present squad comprises stars and pushes players like me to play one day by their side .As I’m concerned, I have always dreamt to play to my national squad.

• Q: Is there any message do you like to forward to the Algerian head coach Rabah Saadane?
•  
• A: I don’t know him personally, but in the light of the Algerian squad’s results, I can say that he’s got a big experience; I wish he could think of me. I‘m seizing this opportunity to ask you to turn the spotlights on me, and I’m very grateful to you for that.

• Q: Do you pay visits to Algeria regularly?
•  
• A: Four years past since my last visit to Algeria, but I love this country I used to go there on regular basis because my family is scattered between Algeria and Germany which makes me very close to this country.

• Q: What do you like the most in Algeria?
•  
• A: I love too much the plainness of life there, the Algerian sea and landscape is simply wonderful, I will go to Algeria whenever I got the opportunity to do it.
