Karkaria wants to spread Shia doctrine in Algeria
Most of Algerian religion personalities and politicians are late to react against new sects in Algeria while they care about phenomena which do not exist in their country.
Religion and politics personalities do not realize the seriousness of the situation until the “boat sinks.” This happened when people discovered late that Al-Ahmaddiyya sect has followers in Algeria. This also happens with Karkaria sect which follows rituals fought by Algeria’s historic scholar Abdelhamid Benbadis of the Muslim Scholars’ Association.
None of Algeria’s current scholars asked the question of why do people follow Zawias while there are mosques?
History books show that Karkaria sect goes back to almost 100 years in Algeria. Some persons who called themselves Wali Salah (a friend of Allah) alleged that they belong to the family of Ali Ib Talib and the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him). They created Zawias following Husseiniya sect in Iraq and Iran. They alleged to teach religion and help people.
Sidi Mohamed Fawzi Karaki alleged that he is a Sufi Khalifa whose ancestors were part of the creation of Alawyia Zawia in the province of Mostaghanem. This Zawia still exists in Algeria and is supported by the State.
In December 1926, Sheikh Abdelhamid Benbadis, the founder of Muslim Scholars’ Association, was on his way back to home in the province of Constantine after Isha Prayer. A big man stabbed him and was caught by residents. He told the police he is one of Alawiya Zawia’s followers.
