Lawyers: “We Can Win The Judicial Battle Against The French Government”

Historians, lawyers asserted on the need to pressurize the French government to recover the remains and skulls of martyrs in the Natural History Museum in Paris, Dr. Lahcene Zeghidi, Representative of Meshaal Echahid Association, said during the launch of the petition of millions to collect signatures in order to restore the skulls of martyrs, in the presence of representatives of the Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, at El Moudjahid newspaper.

“Number of advertised skulls reached 39, as they all belong to the militants and leaders during the first era of colonialism and the various categories of the Algerian people should sign the petition in order to pressurize France to recover the remains of the martyrs’ skulls that are seized in France”.

For her part, the lawyer Fatima Ben Brahem, said there are 39 cases, two of them are woman and a small child under the age of seven, as she wondered about the secret of the existence of the remains of skulls that belong to kids and women.

“There are several evidence to prove the brutality of the colonial soldiers, because some French historians recognize the existence of hands that carry jewellery within the remains of the dead, and it confirms that the French cut hands of women to get the jewellery”.

“Retrieval of the remains and skulls of martyrs can be achieved only through a formal requirement from the government that is represented by the Ministry of Mujahideen, or to engage in a legal battle with the French Ministry of Defence. I’m willing to establish for the right of relatives and members of the martyrs whose skulls are in the French museum , once a certain number of relatives will appear, and this after the millions’ petition that is launched by Mishaal Echahid Association”.

“Most of the skulls in the French museum belong to the prominent leaders of during the first era of colonialism, such as Sheikh Bouziane, leader of Zatecha battle, and Cherif Boubeghla, Musa Derkaoui, Si Mokhtar Ben Keddour Taitaraoui, Issa Hammadi and others.
