Seif Al Islam Al kadhafi
The visit of the Libyan leader’s son Seif El Islam Al Kadhfi to Algeria comes within the framework of an accord sealed between the Algerian authorities and their Libyan counterparts to exchange prisoners, relevant sources revealed.

A group of 12 Libyan prisoners in 27 involved in terrorists’ activities is set to be deported to their home country, it said.

Discussions between both countries concerning this issue have reached a stalemate because the Libyan insisted on exchanging the Algerian prisoners incarcerated in Libya with Libyans involved in terror activities, but the Algerian authorities turned down the deal judging the question sensitive.

The Algerian security forces arrested 27 Libyans between 2007- 2008 in different corners of the country including southern parts and the provinces of Tizi Ouzou and Boumerdes.

To recall, the Libyan authorities have recently released 17 Algerian prisoners while the situation of 59 others sentenced for life is still unclear.
