Madjid Bouguerra: the mission is over with Algeria
Algeria’s former captain Madjid Bouguerra will leave the team as his mission was circumstantial and ends with the African Cup of Nations 2017, Algeria News Agency reported.
The news agency Tuesday quoted a source at the Algerian Football Federation, saying “Bouguerra’s mission duration was limited. His job was to be a link between players and Algeria coach during the African Cup of Nations.”
Earlier in December, the 33-year-old player stopped playing after he had a deal with the president of the Algerian Football Federation. He was asked to assist Algeria coach Georges Leekens during the African competition qualifiers.
As the team failed in reaching the quarter-finals, Bouguerra has to look for another job.
Shortly before the beginning of the competition, the player said it was early to be a coach. He had to take the necessary training and get required diplomas.
