Mahrez ranks 7 in Best Fifa Football Awards

Algerian international football star Ryad Mahrez ranked 7 in the Best Fifa Football Awards 2016 which was won by Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Leicester City’s star gained 2.2 percent of votes. 

In the beginning, there were 23 names including Mahrez who competed for the award. Then, the list was reduced to three candidates: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

According to the final results, Mahrez ranked before a number of international stars including Andrés Iniesta, Mesut Özil and Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Mahrez also ranked 7 in the Ballon d’Or (Golden Ball) Award offered by France Football magazine. A total of 30 football stars were shortlisted for this prize which was won by Cristiano Ronaldo.
