Man killed in a train accident in Algiers

A tragic accident was yesterday morning blamed for the killing of a 38 year old man when this one was hit by a train at high speed here in Algiers while trying to cross the railroad.

• The death toll could have been higher if another train, which was crossing through the same area, had slammed Echorouk’s reporter who went on spot to cover the event along with the rescue team during their duty.

• Immediately after the tragedy, Echorouk’s team moved on spot and shot photos of a torn apart body stuck under the train’s wagon coming from the province of Blida bound to Algiers.

• Sources revealed that the train driver was under a shock and was transferred to the railway regional department to investigate about the causes behind the accident.

• First elements of the inquiry revealed that the driver launched the alert when he saw the man nearby the railway but the speed was, over 80 Kph according to witnesses, that he couldn’t avoid the accident.
