Mansouri to Echorouk : “Mehdi Lacen is most welcome within the Algeria line-up”

In an exclusive interview with the newspaper “Echorouk” the seasoned midfielder of the Algerian national football squad, Yazid Mansouri, has affirmed that Algerian professional, Mehdi Lacen, who plays for the Spanish first – league division club of Satander is wholly welcome within the Algeria line-up. 

• Echorouk : If ever Mehdi Lacen gets into contact with you, what would you tell him concerning his joining the national squad?

• Mansouri : I will tell him that in case he is eager to join the national football squad, he will be most welcome as our group is united and imbued by an active solidarity and a family – like spirit.

• But Lacen’s projected incorporation into the Algeria line-up rests solely with national team coach Rabah Saâdane who decides at will without any outside interference or constraint.

• Echorouk : You arrived a bit late at the Fennecs’ training camp in Southern France, what was the reason behind this delay ?
•  
• Mansouri : As a matter of fact, I was tied up with negotiations with the Managers of the English premier-league club of Burnley for a possible recruitment. But, I should remind you that I had received the prior authorization from national coach Rabah Saâdane.

• That’s why I joined the Greens’ training camp in Castellet a bit late.
•  
• Echorouk : And for that matter, have you  struck a final deal on your transfer with the Burnley Management?
•  
• Mansouri : Things are evolving by leaps and bounds and I have entrusted my personal Manager with settling the last details pertaining to my future contract with the Burnley outfit as early as possible.

• I hope to join the English premier league championship by the end of January 2010.

• Echorouk : What about the atmosphere now prevailing within the Algeria squad?
•  
• Mansouri : Thank God, there is a great and brotherly atmosphere surrounding the group and I should tell you that all the players are fully conscious of their duty.
• We are utterly determined to pull out all the stops on the pitch during the upcoming Africa cup of nations’ competition in Angola with the aim of going as far as possible in this continental tournament so as to provide the maximum pleasure and joy to the Algerian people who will be, doubtless, all behind us yearning for victories.
• All in all, I should say that we are fully confident to fare well in this major African contest on account of our adament resolve and unfailing solidarity which we will display on D.Day, God willing!
