Messahel: Algeria has no crisis with Morocco
Algerian delegate minister in charge of Maghrebin and African affairs Abdelkader Messahel Tuesday said there is neither political nor diplomatic crisis between his country and Morocco.
Messahel also said Algeria rejects any international mediation between Algiers and Rabat, adding that Algeria is in an “instable situation” due to perturbation in neighboring countries.
“There is no crisis between Algeria and Morocco. We have always said no to mediation between the two countries. There is the Western Sahara issue which is being solved in the UN. We hope a solution is found as soon as possible,” he told journalists.
Asked about Algerian diplomat Belkacem Cherouati who was kicked out from Mauritania and Algeria’s similar response, Messahel said there is no conflict with this country about Mali’s integrity.
“Tunisia is still exposed to terrorist violence. We share with it terror-related concerns. We are in charge of bilateral cooperation in this regard,” he added.
He showed pessimism over Libya, saying the worse possibility can happen if Libyans do not reach a political consensus.
