Foreign Minister, Abdelkader Messahel, denied Morocco’s economic superiority over its Algerian counterpart, thanks to what Moroccans claim to be achievements, most of which concern a French car manufacturer.

“Our economy is the strongest in the region, and Morocco is not better than us due to a factory that is owned by the French and employs a few of its citizens”, Foreign Minister, Abdelkader Messahel, says.

During his visit on Friday to the forum of the heads of institutions at the Palace of the Exhibitions, Messahel asserted that Algeria realized several economic achievements in recent years, making it the strongest in the region compared to several countries including Morocco.

“Today, we can not compare between us and those who rely on French companies, which only employ a small number of their own people”.

Head of Algerian Diplomacy revealed on new measures that were taken by the Foreign Ministry at the beginning of October 4, by order of President Bouteflika through the restructuring of its directorates to be more effective.

“I received instructions from the President Bouteflika to lead an intensive campaign to defend the principles and interests of Algeria and its reputation among nations. I give great importance to the economic diplomacy that will move horizontally and vertically, in search of new investments and to bring constructive partnerships, and to defend Algerian companies abroad and businessmen in the international market”.

“Directorate of Studies is created to oversee the economic situation of the next stage and supervise the diplomatic and economic training. Algerian Foreign Ministry will play a role in bringing deals, projects and investments in the midst of the continuing oil shock. What matters to us is that these foreigners respect the labor laws in Algeria and defend the interests of Algerian companies wherever they are “.

Foreign Minister also announced the reopening of the Mauritanian crossing, which will be the gateway to export to West Africa in 2018, and the recruitment of ships and aircraft to export Algerian products abroad, which he said today has become the quality that is required in the international market and pledged to grant exporters all facilities in this framework, in addition to Algeria’s participation in the international exhibitions soon in Mali, Russia and other countries to introduce the Algerian made products.
