New coach of the Algerian Football Team the Serbian Milovan Rajevac, said in his first statement after the FAF announced that he will lead the Desert Warriors, succeeding the French Christian Gourcuff; “it is a mistake to refused the offer to train the Algerian national team which contain football stars”.

He also expressed his happiness to reached an agreement with the head of the FAF, Mohamed Raouraoua, to struggle in the African jungle.

Rajevac said in a short interview with the Serbian website Mozzart Sport, on Monday evening: “It would be a terrible mistake to offer a good and wonderful work that I received from Algeria, especially with a distinctive and amazing team that is full of football stars.”

Responding to the question about the most important duties that await him in Algeria, Gourcuff’s successor answered; “My mission will officially begin in the month of August through meeting players to clarify the way of action which I will follow, and I’m very happy with the confidence that was placed in me by the Algerian Football Federation. I realize that the responsibilities that are awaiting for me are very large, both for the finals of the African Cup of Nations in Gabon 2017 or Russia’s World Cup qualifier 2018.”

Mozzart Sport website said that Rajevac was jobless since the summer of 2011, the date of terminating his contract with the Qatari national team, and he conducted, since a few weeks ago, the trainings of one of the teams in the Slovenian championship, so he should end his contract with this team, first, before carrying his bags and heading to Algeria.

Same source revealed that the contract of the Algerian national team with the coach Rajevac will be for two seasons and it will end in 2018, contrary to what was said by media on Sunday, that his contract with FAF lasts until 2019.
