Mohamed Al Yazghi: “Morocco has not accused Algeria of backing Kadhafi… and wants the reopening of borders”
Moroccan state minister Mohamed Al Yazghi has revealed in a telephone conversation with Echorouk from Rabat that his country is seeking an alliance with the countries of the Maghreb and those of the Sahel with a view to bolstering and streamlining cooperation in the field of security despite Morocco's non-participation, against its will, in the international symposium on the struggle against the scourge of terrorism which opened on Wednesday in Algiers.
- The Moroccan state minister asserted that his country was intent on pursuing efforts aimed at fostering solid relations with Algeria and its brotherly people notably during the current juncture in the hope of achieving an early reopening of the land borders between the two countries.
- He expressed in this connection Morocco’s will to reinforce and to upgrade bilateral cooperation with Algeria in all fields of endeavour.
- Mr Mohamed Yazghi also firmly denied reports alleging that Morocco had accused Algeria of backing the Kadhafi regime stressing that the Moroccan foreign minister had already conveyed a report to his Algerian counterpart Mourad Medelci proving Morocco’s innocence to this effect.
