Moroccan, African terrorists trained in Mali to join GSPC
A large number of Moroccans and Africans joined the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC) operating in the Algerian desert and led by Yahia Djouadi nicknamed Yahia Abu Ammar, a Mauritanian terrorist told judges on Tuesday.

“They were trained on using weapons in Mali to be ready to enter the Algerian desert and join the armed groups there,” Mokhtar Ben Mohamed Ben Mahmoud said.

“They also used GPS to localise weapons hidden in the deep desert. Mauritanian Abu Alkama was arrested when he was injured following air bombings from the Algerian army in Ain Aminass (south of Algiers),” he added.

Abu Alkama was sentenced to five years prison for belonging to a terrorist group operating inside the country.

The Mauritanian suspect who is 24 lives in Nouakchott. He was convinced in the idea of jihad in Iraq following preaches at a mosque in Mauritania. He knew Mauritanian Abu Aymen who promised him to help him in reaching Iraq across Mali.

He went to an isolated place in Mali where 12 terrorists including Algerians, Moroccans and Tunisians are based armed with Kalashnikovs.

He also knew terrorist Yahia Djouadi nicknamed Yahia Abu Ammar and said they named their camp Ezzarkaoui.

He added that they belong to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
