Most of the Algerian internet users read newspapers on the internet: survey reveals
A recent survey carried out by “Madan.com†over the Algerian internet users has yesterday revealed that 4.5 million Algerians are connected to the internet, 75% among them has indicated that internet is essential in their everyday life since they surf one to two hours a day, while 40% of the polled have declared spending 20 hours a week in front of their computer.
- The outcome of the survey has revealed that men are more addicted to internet with 70% compared with 30% of women and most of the Algeria internet users belong to the age class between 26 and 35 mostly university graduates scattered in the different corners of the country after being concentrated in the capital city Algiers with 50% .
- The survey has also revealed that 75.5% of the internet users surf on the internet to consult the online press and get instantaneous news and most of them have an account on the so called social media like “Facebook” and “Twitters”.
- More than 32% of the polled have indicated that they essentially surf on the internet to meet people especially that 1.2 millions among them are Facebook subscribers.
