Mourad Meghni in Doha for injury treatment

Algeria international and Lazio Rome midfielder, Mourad Meghni, is currently in the Qatari capital Doha where he is to undergo medical treatment probably for a 2-week period in the hope of regaining his full physical form in expectation of the 2010 World Cup competition in South Africa. 

• After hearing about his arrival two days ago in the Qatari capital from Echorouk sources, numerous Algerian expatriates living in Doha converged on the airport there to greet Mourad Meghni who was surprised and overjoyed at the high-flown welcome extended to him.

• On the spot, several Algerians took pictures with Mourad Meghni who also signed many autographs to his special fans in particular and the Algeria football squad in general.

• Later on, Mourad Meghni met with renowned surgeon Hakim Chalabi in a Doha specialized hospital for a preliminary check-up before embarking upon the planned medical treatment aimed at healing his injury which has driven him out of the football pitch for about 2 months now.

• Similarly to Mourad Meghni, the seasoned Algeria defender, who plays for Glasgow Rangers Madjid Bouguerra, is also present now in Doha for an injury treatment which is expected to wind up on March 26th.

• Bouguerra’s injury is less severe and less intricate than that sustained by Mourad Meghni, according to hospital sources.

• It should be noted that the ongoing medical treatment for these 2 Algerian international players in Doha (Qatar) has been wholly taken in charge financially by the Algerian Football Federation –FAF-.
