It seems that the debate about teaching the slang in the primary phase will not stop, especially since the circle of MPs who are angry from the Education Minister, Nouria Benghabrit, is widening day after day, as MPs from the lower house start planning to sign a petition that includes all the political parties that oppose the random decisions.

Informed sources told Echorouk that some MPs are thinking about signing a petition that will be submitted to the official authorities to demand the removal of the Education Minister, Nouria Benghabrit, because of what they consider to be the ideological ideas that are promoted in Algerian society, and will start from the Algerian school.

Among the demands that will be included in the petition, there is the demand for the replacement of the French language with the English in departments, universities and even elementary schools, given that it is a universal language and is more popular in recent years.

Echorouk sources added that the initiative is not limited to specific parties, and even parties in power, including RND and FLN who recently expressed their rejection of Benghabrit decision, so that the initiative will not remain parliamentary and isolated, but can be expanded to include the education syndicates, civil society associations, the opponents of Education Ministry’s decisions, which pushed the country in the “temptation” of language, and the objective of the National Initiative for Evaluating  the Education sector reforms, by holding a seminar that will bring together those who wish to take out the Algerian school from the “swamp” of indiscriminate and ill-considered decisions, that affect future generations.
