National coach Saâdane calls up 25 players for Zambia qualifier

National team coach Rabah Saadane has decided to call up 25 international players in anticipation of the crucial confrontation versus Zambia on September 6th in Blida stadium as part of the qualifying matches for the 2010 World Cup contest in South Africa. 

  • It is expected that Saadane will keep the same line-up which faced Uruguay in the August 12th friendly match in Algiers, except defender Ismail Diss, in the place of Adelkader Laifaoui.
  • It is envisaged that this would be the last time in which Saadane will call up 25 players, as he may agree  with the head of the Algerian federation to call only 22 players next time.
  • In a related context, Zambian media reports said the delegation of the “Tchipolopolo” will be led by the head of the Zambian federation Kaloucha Boualie to try to give more confidence to the players It will be made up of 29 members, including 21 players only.
  • According to the same Zambian reports, the Zambian delegation will arrive in Algeria on the third of fourth of next September, coming from France, where the Zambian squad has been training for a  week.
  • The Zambian squad is hoping to defeat Algeria in order to qualify at least to the African Cup of Nations competition to be hosted by Angola.
