National Gendarmerie laboratory analyses expose Morocco for drug-smuggling into Algeria

The National Gendarmerie Services have been endowed with a brand-new laboratory in charge of minute biological analyses located in the premises of the criminology Institute of Bouchaoui on the eastern coast of Algiers.

  • This state of the art laboratory is already operational in this Institute which employs a host of Algerian criminology experts and specialists who had followed intensive higher studies in this field in several renowned foreign universities notably in France, Belgium, Great Britain and the United States of America.
  •
  • This laboratory is mainly entrusted with conducting in-depth and minute biological analyses about the type and the origin of all the quantities of drugs seized by the National Gendarmerie roving squads in various parts of the national territory.
  •
  • These profound analyses have allowed the National Gendarmerie investigators to track down the ring-leaders of the drug smuggling networks and their acolytes and to pinpoint exactly the country from which the smuggled drugs are coming from.
  •
  • In this connection, the Gendarmerie investigating teams have ascertained after thorough analyses and reliable data that these nefarious and illegal drugs are being smuggled into Algeria from neighbouring Morocco which, they say, is ranked first in the world in terms of Hashish plantations for an average output of 47.400 tonnes per year.
