The National Defense Ministry (NDM) announced Wednesday that nearly a quarter of a million of citizens aged 30 by the year 2014 benefited from presidential amnesty procedures concerning national service.
According to a Defense Ministry statement, “from the beginning of this process (2014) to 31 December 2017, the number of citizens who benefited from the presidential procedures during the period of three years concerned 2 48542 citizens, including 3,573 Algerian residents settled abroad”.
“Under the same procedures and within the same period, the status of 789 776 persons who willfully delayed conscription before 2014 was thus duly settled,” it indicated.
According to the Ministry, the settlement process of the status regarding the national service, relating to citizens aged 30 years and above until 31 December 2014, born in 1984 and earlier, was pinpointed by the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the Minister of National Defense in good conditions.
“National Service centers and offices, across the entire national territory, are continuing to receive the persons concerned and to take them in charge, as swiftly as possible, regardless of the predetermined schedules,” the NDM statement added.
