National Syndicate of Education Workers vows to launch a historical protest next week
Algiers- National Syndicate of Education Workers gave one week to the Education Ministry to make concrete decisions on the seven files of the list of demands and threatened to launch a protest movement in the case of ignoring their demands.
The NSEW said that if the ministry is unfair as usual syndicate will launch a historical strike, adding that all indicators suggest that it will be strong and storming.
The syndicate of Education Workers joined the rest of unions in the sector calling for a general strike to coincide with the start of the school year 2011/2012. In its statement, the syndicate enumerated a file of social services as a priority in the need to accelerate the process of granting workers their financial benefits, adding that what is most important is the conduct of more than 700 billion DZ far away from personal purposes.
The syndicate rejected the ministerial decree N° 16 issued on June 19, 2011, which specified the date of the school year’s beginning, the school calendar and holidays, which is incompatible with the proposals of local seminars in the south because it devotes negative discrimination and does not take into consideration the specificity of the region.
The statement focused on the duty to address the rest of the files that are no less important as the system of compensation, explaining that Ben Bouzid admitted personally that there are some unfair procedures brought to the sector compared to the other sectors saying ;“ If they are paid twice we will compensate”.
The NSEW asserted that the compensation was a farce par excellence, as the education sector is the first which launched a series of strikes, but other sectors actually benefited although there is a large difference.
