Negotiations Underway to Export Algerian Car Parts to Italy
The Algerian company “Mirav”, based in Bordj Bou Arreridj (eastern Algeria), is negotiating to export its plastic and steel automotive spare parts, as well as components for household appliances, to Italy in 2026. It is also exploring cooperation opportunities with Spain and Arab countries.
In this context, the director of Mirav Company, Marouf Hassane, told Echorouk that “the company has begun preparations to enter foreign markets starting in 2026. Negotiations are underway to export the first shipment of its products to Italy, a move that reflects the company’s ambition to expand its operations and contribute to increasing the national industrial integration rate.”
The spokesperson explained that Mirav, established in 2019, launched full production in 2024. The company specialises in manufacturing automotive and household appliance parts made of plastic and steel, as well as automotive engine mounts. Its products are primarily geared towards meeting the needs of the domestic market, with plans to supply car assembly plants and household appliance manufacturers under an existing contract.
The company is located in the El Ach industrial zone in Bordj Bou Arreridj (eastern Algeria), where it currently provides 40 direct jobs and 30 indirect jobs, with a production capacity estimated at two million units by 2025.
Regarding the company’s participation in the Algerian Products Exhibition, the director of “Mirav” confirmed that this was the first such participation since the company entered the production phase. A range of its locally manufactured automotive and household appliance spare parts was showcased. He explained that, as of December 24, 2025, the company’s pavilion at the Exhibition Palace had not received any official visits.
Regarding the recent decisions taken to develop the spare parts manufacturing sector in Algeria, the spokesperson praised the efforts of the public authorities, particularly the President of the Republic, to revive this sector and implement positive policies for the benefit of national manufacturers. He emphasised that they are awaiting the next steps and are ready for complete integration.
He added that the Algerian market remains large and open, while the supply of spare parts remains relatively limited, opening up significant opportunities for domestic production. In this context, he affirmed that the company “Mirav” has an expansionary vision and ambitious plans within its 2026 program, particularly if certain conditions are met, issues are resolved, and the necessary facilities and privileges are granted.
As part of the 2026 program, the spokesperson revealed that the company has initiated contacts with Italian and Spanish partners, in addition to partners from sister Arab countries, intending to expand its vision and develop its network, in parallel with working on exporting the first shipment to Italy, a process that is still under negotiation.
