New Customs' Tariff Enters Into Force, Fake Importers To Face Tight Control
New customs’ tariff comes into force officially on Thursday, and it includes 10 digits instead of 8 to allow the identification of the imported product and its domestic source to accurately apply the appropriate tariff, and will also allow putting an end to the false statements, and tightening the noose on importers and manipulators.
In this context, the General Manager of Customs, Kaddour Ben Taher, told Echorouk on Thursday, on the sidelines of the special information day on “The New Customs’ Tariff,” that the new tariff, which went from 6126 tariff identifiable modes to nearly 16,000, with an increase of 260%, falls within the general government policy relating to the diversification of the national product and encouraging it outside the hydrocarbons sector.
