New customs tariff will enter into force on September 18th
The new customs tariff will come into force on September 18th for better supervision of foreign trade.
The new tariff comes as part of the customs strategic plan 2016-2019. It includes ten measures. Of them, there are the structural reorganization of customs administration, reassessment of human resources management, working and social conditions, reinforcement of surveillance means, revision of customs procedures, development of advertisement, technologies and communication system, intensification of information and experience exchange with the State’s institutions in charge of surveillance.
Algeria News Agency (APS) reported that the customs administration called on economic operators to “take all the necessary measures to respect the deadline which can not be postponed.”
The new tariff is based on a more exact code which contains 10 numbers instead of 8.
It will enable to be aware of statistics and change the fiscal system. Goods will be classified in a more detailed way, according to the same source.
