These measures fall under an urgent security plan that was adopted by third region of the gendarmerie in Bechar, south of Algeria in order to stop the smuggling operations which have been increasing in recent times after the drug traffickers transferred their activity to the southern regions and resorted to violence using arms and weapons to confront the border guards”, security sources told Echorouk.
