New taxes on construction licences and shops

The government is expected to decide in propositions about the 2017 financial draft bill in the end of July. Collection operation is almost done.

Taxes Director Abderrahmane Raouia told Echorouk the propositions may not include price raise. The financial act 2017 will focus on modernizing information systems, updating figures and improving real-estate tax calculation system. 

He added that collection indicators were positive in 2016 but they can be better in 2017.

The government will also reduce budgets allocated to ministries. It called for the role of local governments in funding the Public Treasury.

Meetings are held with prefects to raise taxes on parties rooms and related events, advertisements, construction licences and shops.

According to observers, the government would oblige local governments to be financially independent.
