Noor Al Sharif sues newspaper for calling him a homosexual
The famous Egyptian actor Noor Al Sharif has filed a lawsuit against the weekly newspaper “Al Balagh Al Jadid†for slander.

Al Sharif claims the newspaper published a picture of him on the front-page accompanied by the caption, “Arresting Homosexuals.”

The article said that the Egyptian tourism police had arrested a group of homosexuals at the Samiramis hotel in Cairo and that the famous Egyptian actor Noor Al Sharif was amongst them.

The article also claimed that Al Sharif was questioned by police for five hours and then the entire group was released on bail, including Al Sharif.
- Al Sharif was furious over the article and said that such a lie has and will continue to disparage him personally and financially, and his family.
- The Egyptian art association for actors said that they are backing Al Sharif and have called for an investigation into the matter.
- The tourism police deny arresting Al Sharif or anyone else for homosexual behavior at the Samiramis hotel, according to the Cairo court investigation.
